I went to California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and received my B.S. in Graphic Communication.
I worked at the University Graphic Systems at Cal Poly for 2 years and was a print technician on the Goss Web press, printing the newspaper. I also took responsibility in working as a graphic designer making marketing material for the graphic communication department, and teaching other students who were incoming freshman how to use photoshop, illustrator and indesign.
Over the summer I was a graphic design intern at Ripcurl headquarters in Costa Mesa where I worked alongside the graphic designers. I got to actually work on projects that were sent out to surf shops around the country. Constructing and resizing website banners and printed banners for storefronts at retail outlets in California and around the country.
I currently work as a graphic designer in Santa Monica mostly making designs for print material i.e. business cards, t-shirts, movie posters, CD covers, letter heads, logos, and all sorts of other marketing material. My business is located right next door to a screen printing facility so I have taken advantage of that and made my own t-shirts. I would really love to start my own clothing company and take it to the next level.
